Yesterday, my boyfriend and I went to Ripley's Aquarium, and here's my review and photos of the place!
Note: I took photos with my Motorola Moto G phone, because I didn't want to take my heavy DSLR camera and it only is capable of lasting around 20-30 minutes until I have to charge it again.
The line to get the tickets was awfully long and I am sure glad that we bought tickets online. It still took us around 20-30 minutes to actually get into the building and start the tour of the aquarium.
But the line for those that didn't get the tickets online was around 4-5 times longest than the people who are already ticket holders.
The ticket cost around $33 including tax and the convenience fee that they charge. It was a little on the pricey side, but maintaining the tanks and fish that they had, I guess it makes sense why Ripley's priced it that way.
Onto the pictures!

It was a little hard to get closer to the tank because of kids and parents, but I managed to take some pictures anyway.
Canadian Waters |
It was crowded and I think that Ripley's should limit on the amount of people per session that can enter. Especially for the price that they were selling the tickets at. Mothers with strollers probably annoyed me the most.

Eels! |
In my opinion, I don't think it is a good idea for a mother to go with her baby to this. It's loud (with kids screaming and parents too) and it just sounds like a hassle to me.
I do not remember what this was. Anemone? |
Blue Lobsters |
Octopus! |

This tank was pretty huge. I was pretty disappointed that the plants were fake.
Anemonies |
Pretty crowded. It was hard to get to the tank, but at least I saw the marine life and had a good time.
Pacific Kelp |
The tank seemed crowded by the amount of fish they had in there.
Rainbow Reef! |
The picture turned out to be blurry because people walk by you and brush against you by accident.
Rainbow Reef! |
I tried my best not to get people's heads in my photos.
The place was reallllllyyy nice and while being there I was like: Wow, it's beautiful.
But my absolute favourite part of the Aquarium was the tunnel.
Saw fish |
This guy was pretty lazy, he kept resting on the tank walls. |
Shark Week! |
There were two types of sharks: Sand Tiger Shark and Sandbar Shark.
Rough tail Stingray |
We named this stingray "Happy". Because he looks like he's smiling!
He was pretty funny looking |
Fishies! |
The Tunnel was beautiful. AKA "Dangerous Lagoon".
It felt magical (at least for me)
And then... A Green Sea Turtle Came!
And the Saw fish kept napping on the tunnel's walls.
I like sharks, I have always been fascinated by them.
Discovery Centre! I'm petting the Horseshoe Crab. This was the stop where you could pet the Horseshoe crabs.
Corals!
Red lion fish.
and more fish!
Sea horses!!!
Sea dragon! This was one of my favourites.
Cuttle fish.
Bamboo Sharks,
Piranhas |
The Ray Bay |
Planet Jellies... Aka Jelly Fish |
The way that the jelly fish changed colours was mesmerizing!

The tank openings

In conclusion, the day and experience was wonderful!
That's all for this post!
Thanks for reading,

(But the ticket's price didn't live up to it)
I feel the same way when I go to the aquarium.....no strollers, please!

I don't mind strollers THAT much, but if there's like at least 25 mothers with strollers and their kids are not even IN strollers... That's when I get irritated :p
DeleteYes, that is how I feel. :(
