Arabians, Arabians, and Arabians!

It seems that almost every time I blog...
I am VERY excited for the Peter Stone DAH! I am thinking of acquiring (somehow) an arabian halter or arabian halter set. I've been looking for pictures and such... I was thinking of making my own, but I discovered that the tassels are A LOT of work and it is a very tedious job. Despite that, I  and will still  try. First times are usually hard, once you get the concept you should be okay... Right?

Here's what I found on the internet:
I do not own this image!
This Arabian is a chestnut going grey and I find him quite lovely, but since we are talking about tack... That looks like a simpler version to make and doesn't require that much tassels...

I do not own this image!
Awwe, I find this guy (girl?) very cute, the snip and the star... and the little braid! This one has more tassels than the first image but still appealing!

I do not own this image!
This horse is absolutely gorgeous! The halter looks very cute as well, but man I cannot stop looking at her (him?)!

I do not own this image!
Now this does not look like those every day arabian sets! It's very lovely, but the chain looks very thin and easy to break! But the horse is beautiful! Ahhh Chestnuts!

I do not own this image!

OH THE CHESTNUTS! Now this is a very simple arabian halter, I'm probably going to break down and make one like this instead of the fancy shmancy arabian halter!

I do not own this image!

Originally, I wanted to make something like this ^, but now I don't know if I have enough patience for making this.  :(
Also, it seems to me... Every time I start "obsessing" over something... My Pinterest, Tumblr and etc tend to show up with more images of what I want :I

I do not own this image!
This arabian bay stallion is absolutely stunning! *Drools*

This is what I typically see in the model horse community ^, very nice and delicate!

I am currently thinking of names for the Liver Chestnut Arabian DAH... And this is what I came up with"
"Honey Bunny",
"Aladdin" (my boyfriends favourite Disney movie, and it's also one of my favourites),
"Al-Khwarizmi" (which is an Arabian Mathematician ... We were both studying for our math exam when the "Sub-Zero Event Sale" happened and we ordered him on that day),
"Aziz" (the powerful in Arabic), "Farid" (unique, rare in Arabic),
"Hassan" (beautiful, handsome in Arabic, and my favourite character in the book "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini),
"Jamal" (Beauty in Arabic)
"Nadir" (Dear, precious, rare in Arabic)
"Sultan" (King in Arabic)
"Talal" (Nice, admirable in Arabic)

AHHHHHH WE ORDERED OUR Design-A-Horse!

So, as some of you know, Peter Stone is doing the 'The Sub-Zero Sale Event!"....
All the DAHs have a 30% discount (excluding the non-custom chips), when I saw it... I basically freaked out on my boyfriend!
So, we decided to order it... Now, remember how I told you guys how we are going to order the Thoroughbred in Black with brown eyes and a star+small snip and 2 coronet bands on hind legs?
We were not sure (more like I) if we are going to do that one. So, I made a page on this blog with all the colours, markings, moulds Peter Stone offers for DAHs. So le boyfriend and I can go through everything on one page instead of going to a bunch of different links (and so it would be more organized)
Le Boyfriend started to really not like the Peter Stone black colour... and I started reallllllllllly  reallllly loving the Arabian mould... In fact, when I first started to research Peter Stone models, the Arabian was my favourite.
For about an hour we debated on the colours, moulds and markings...
We came up with this:
Colour: Seal bay, liver chestnut, chestnut, sorrel, sooty buckskin, red dun and chocolate palomino.
For Moulds we got: Bushy Mane and Tale Pony, Thoroughbred, Arabian and the Ideal Stock Horse (long tail ver)
Markings: Coronet band socks on hind feet with hoofstripes, Face: Diamond and Small Snip.

Around 30 minutes later, we decided on Liver Chestnut Arabian with DAPPLES, diamond+small snip, coronet band socks on both hind feet with hoofstripes :D

Now, I hope the liver chestnut will be something like:

OR
NOT MY PHOTO
I absolutely love this colour, I LOVELOVELOVE Deep reds, and if my DAH turns out like that... I will probably cry!

Le boyfriend should be able to receive him sometime in March... But I can't see it until May 1st, and I know if I'm dying to see it now... I will be dying 10000 times more in March!

I am also thinking of potential show names for him.... I was thinking of "Honey Bunny", because there is a somewhat similar shade of honey to liver chestnut and I also call my boyfriend "Honey Bunny"...
I CAN'T WAIT FOR PETER STONE SNEAK PEEK THURSDAYS!!!!

Did any of you guys order a Peter Stone DAH or bought a horse today? (comment below! :))

That's it for this post,
Cheers!

RDJ (the Shetland Pony) has a new owner!

RDJ, The Shetland Pony

RDJ, named after Robert Downey Jr.... Sherlock Holmes and the Game of Shadows
I do not own this image (gif)!
has a new owner now! Okay, so my boyfriend is travelling to Europe for around 10 days (?)... and I liked this concept of a "travel horse/pony" (I don't remember the blogger but I loved her photography and her idea), and I ranted about it to le boyfriend... So, a few days ago, I had this dream where I am debating whether or not I am giving le boyfriend a travel horse/pony. The next morning, I ask le boyfriend if he wants one, and he said he does. So, I decided to make him choose one of my Schleichs (since they are hardy and small). He chose... the Schleich 2009 Shetland Pony, because of his size, colour and mane (actually, his mane looks a lot like my hair hahaha).

Now, before today, I was only letting le boyfriend to borrow RDJ (P.S. RDJ was residing in le boyfriend's house)... But now, I feel like I should just give RDJ to le boyfriend, because he likes him a lot more than I do... I mean, I love my Schleich ponies, but I have a DAH coming in May... So, it is only fair that le boyfriend gets a pony too. But, I did strike a deal with le boyfriend, I get to take photoshoots of RDJ :)

ALSO, Schleich 2014 Horses were released a month ago, and I am loving the new Shetland Pony Family (well... Except I like RDJ the gelding better) .. I ABSOLUTELY LOVELOVELOVELOVE the new Shetland Mare and the foal and the Falabella gelding! Now, all I need to hope for is that the toy store near me carries them........ I still need that Dartmoor Pony foal (he's adorable!)
.... I am going to miss RDJ in my collection so much though, but he is in good hands, plus I'll be getting him back in a few years anyway... When le boyfriend and I move in together.

That's it for this post!

P.S. I am sorry for not blogging for such a long time, this month is basically an exam month and I've been really busy... But I promise to blog more in February! :)

It finally came!

So, my boyfriend is an online shopper. He buys his clothes online.... Pretty much everything except food. But if there was such thing as ordering food online, he would probably use it and abuse it :P
Also, he is a procrastinator.... Like a BIG procrastinator. So... I received my christmas presents today! Oh well, I still love him <3
Chocolate, Mocking Jay Pin necklace and a christmas card, isn't this the best?! :')
I am a big fan of the Hunger Games, and we saw Catching Fire sometime in December... and that's when Le Boyfriend decided that the Mocking Jay pin or necklace would be my Christmas gift. It's a bit different that the ones that I've seen, it's 3D and has more detail in it and it has a leather chain.
IT'S SO PRETTY I LOVE IT!

Valentine's Day is coming up soon and I am in need of cute date ideas or surprises for le boyfriend. I have a few ideas, but I feel like they are too small... *sigh*
Anyone have ideas?

That's all for this post!
Cheers,

Wordless Wednesday

I am pretty busy right now with my studies... So, it looks like I'll be blogging mostly on the weekends or whenever I have free time (which this month I don't have a lot).
But I'll try to keep this blog updated somewhat daily... Posting a photo or two that I took or something like that.
The frost created a pretty picture on my window... And I just had to take a photo of it!
It looks like a ship (to me)
This one is extra pretty *0*

That's it for this post,
Cheers!

Decisions

So, I was on eBay the other day...Searching up for Peter Stones of course... and I stumbled upon a very pretty ISH (Ideal Stock Horse). No, it wasn't pretty... It was gorgeous!
Not my image, found it on http://www.stonehorseref.com
This guy is called "Seven", a liver chestnut RR (Regular Run) and he was produced in 2000-2000. He has some very nice dapples and his colour is just beautiful. Another horse to add to my wishlist...

Also, I've been on the Peter Stone Horse Reference website (www.stonehorseref.com) and I am starting to really like the Palouse mould...
Not my image, found it on http://www.stonehorseref.com
But then I look at the Thoroughbred mould...
Not my image, found it on http://www.stonehorseref.com
AND I'm having... Mixed thoughts. I like both moulds and I'm just... I don't know. I need to consult to le boyfriend... But, alas, he is not here.
I am also having mixed thoughts on having our horse black... I saw a pictures of PS Alae Rouge and his eyes... looked a bit creepy. So, colour in my mind is also under review. We have lots of time... But I am just such a ... Planner. Like, I need to know now. I'm pretty sure I'm getting on my boyfriend's nerves as well.

I thought I could get some work done... Get my "Investigation of a famous crime from History" (Jack the Ripper) assignment done... But unfortunately... It does not look like I am able to do anything today. I guess it's a break day for me...

That's it for this post!
Cheers!

Sherlock, Sherlock, Sherlock

When someone asks me/group/family/etc : Which one of you likes Sherlock Holmes?
Everyone is like:
Not my gif, I found it on Tumblr
And I'm like:
Not my gif, I found it on Tumblr
One more episode left of BBC Sherlock Season 3 ("The Last Vow")... And I am feeling:
Not my gif, I found it on Tumblr
The Sherlock fandom will go nuts.... We will probably crash tumblr and cry until Season 4 comes out!

Anyway, Season's 3 episode 1 was B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L. It was amazing! Fantastic! Brilliant!
While, episode 2 was just simply... Perfect. It was just perfect.

That's all for this post,
Cheers!

Wolf of Wall Street

This is not my image, I found it on Google
So, today  my friends (including le boyfriend) and I went to watch "The Wolf of Wall Street".
I have very mixed feelings about this movie. First of all, this movie is 18+ (18 years old and above)... There was a lot of sex scenes (more like every other scene was a sex scene), nudity and drug abuse. It was good but it probably is not one of my favourite movies of this year. And this is definitely NOT a couples movie. But YAY Leo was in it! :') Can he get his Oscar already?
My guy friends enjoyed it A LOT (including le boyfriend). I was a bit disappointed... Being a business person, I wanted to see more Stock Broker action.... Oh well....

So, I was fooling around with this photo editing website (pizap) and this happened^
I need to retake that Totilas (his actual show name is Monte Nero) and his "selfie" shot because it is all blurry. But I felt like putting it in anyway.

Well, I think this is it for this post...
Cheers!

Blank

Blank. That's how I would describe my mind right now... I have a writer's block.
So, instead of writing something really interesting I'm going to just share photos that I took the other day (more like years) and write some thoughts on that particular model.
Breyer OF Ravel
Summer 2012

Summer 2012 (Breyer OF GG Valentine, Heartbreaker and Ravel)

My favourite model in my collection would probably have to be my Breyer OF Ravel. I love the mould/mold, markings, colour and pretty much everything about him. Except the fact that he gets random scratches by standing on my shelf. Now, hoof rubs... I understand, but he has scratches on his bum and his face. They are small and not really noticeable... But I notice this kind of thing very quickly and it bothers me. And his seam split... It's not too bad... but it is still pretty bad. His face and back had a small seam split but now it's bigger because of the Black Out that happened last week. (It was freezing and most of my models' seams cracked... except Totilas's and GG Valentine's)
From the beginning my Ravel was not in the best shape, he wasn't LSQ (Live Show Quality) but he was PSQ (Photo Show Quality) which was still fine. But on his other side, he has a big box rub. Because of that I was tempted to return him back to the store (Greenhawk Equestrian), but I decided against it. I mean, he was/is my very first Breyer Traditional and I got him right after my Science Exam (I did well on it... 78%...To some, it's not a "good" mark, but to me at the time it was... Since, I totally bombed the chemistry & optics units and I really was not motivated to do anything in that class at all. I didn't have friends in that class, or... the ones that I did have were not friends with me any more).
Anyway, back to the actual model and not the memories that are associated with Ravel. He has really detailed hooves especially the ones with hoof stripes but the paint job was not well done. Overall the paint job was okay but there were bits of paint residue on his belly and hip. The real Ravel is a gelding... Breyer made him a stallion. But still he's a very pretty Dutch Warmblood Stallion.
This image is not mine, I found it on Google, but Ravel is so cute!
OF Ravel is currently retired by Breyer... So, they don't manufacture him any more... And that made me a bit sad because I wanted to get another copy of him in case something happens to my current one (Did I mention that I love this mould/mold?). I mean, he is still available (probably) on eBay or MH$P or a tack store or toy store. But at least Breyer released another model on this mould... Snowman! I find it quite funny, I was reading over the summer this book called "The Eighty-Dollar Champion" and then a few months later, Breyer made Snowman... On my favourite mould!
Despite, My Ravel's imperfections... I love him and to me, he is perfect. This year I realized that... Nothing perfect *insert Miley Cyrus's Nobody's Perfect song*. There are some that come very close to perfection (looks or personality or art work and etc)... But are they actually perfect? Of course not! But when you really love someone or something... To you, it is perfect.
This image is not mine, I found it on Google
What's your favourite mould/mold? Did any coincidence(s) similar to mine happened to you before?
I think that concludes my post for today...So, I'll see y'all tomorrow!

~Marina

P.S. You can comment below... I don't bite :)

Peter Stone DAH (Design-A-Horse)

Hello Everyone! I hope you had a wonderful New Year's Eve and New Year's Day...
(^not mine... I found it on Tumblr)
Anyway,  back to the actual title of this post... I guess I'll be discussing the Peter Stone DAH!
Now, I was earlier on facebook and Peter Stone posted a status saying that they added some new markings to the Design-A-Horse page. They added:
- Coronet Band
- Wide Blaze 2014
- Thin Blaze 2014
- New Appaloosa Pattern
- New extension on Tobiano,
- New extension on Minimal Tobiano
- New extension on New Overo

And already 2014 is getting better! Just the other day my boyfriend and I were talking about the DAH we will be designing... and being the planner I am, I made him decide with me on markings, colour and mould/mold for our DAH. Both of us liked the coronet band, but at the time (which was like a week ago?) Peter Stone didn't offer the coronet band... So, we decided on low socks instead. But now... Since, Peter Stone offers it... Coronet bands it is! :D
Onto face markings, I like the star and he likes the snip... So we settled on Star + Small snip (I prefer the small snip and my Breyer OF Totilas's face markings are absolutely adorable!)
My  Breyer OF Totilas (one of the pictures from the Photoshoot)

Colours... Now this one was difficult for me... I love Blacks, Bays, Chestnuts and Greys... and Le Boyfriend decided the colour for me... "Okay... So, we both like black...So what about black?" (we were talking horse colours btw) and so... our PS DAH will be a Black. Plus, most of the horses in my collection are bay... Especially the ones that are Breyer Traditionals (Ravel, Hickstead, GG Valentine, Heartbreaker, Marabella, Zenyatta, and Northern Dancer). And I do love black horses... True black, Sunburnt black, and Raven black... I do absolutely love Ruffian... But all the articles that I have read all have a different colour for her... "Almost black", "Black" or "Dark bay" and etc. So, I'm not really sure... maybe she was a Sunburnt black?

Now for the moulds/molds... This one was also difficult for me... All Peter Stones are very lovely and I love the Arabian, Thoroughbred, Palouse, Stock Horse (long tail ver.) and the Weanling. But after visiting the Peter Stone Reference website ( http://www.stonehorseref.com ), I grown very fond of the Thoroughbred Mould... When I asked Le Boyfriend... He said he liked the Thoroughbred. So, a black TB with a star and small snip + 2 hind coronets and hoof stripes it is!
and so, this is how my order will look like^

I do love dapples... but I kinda want my PS DAH to be a True black... and I don't want to strain le boyfriend's wallet.

This is my birthday present... and I know it's early, but it takes 6-8 weeks for the DAH to be prepared... and since we live in Canada, shipping might take longer. I was thinking of putting in the order in the beginning of March, so hopefully *crossed fingers* the DAH will come in time for my birthday (which is on the 1st of May).

If anyone ordered the Peter Stone Design-A-Horse, let me know what you designed and how long it took for your DAH to come! Thank you :)

Live Show Report: Luck O'The Irish Live

Today's post brings us back to March 18th, 2018 in Acton, Ontario, Canada. This was a very last minute show for me as I signed up aroun...
